German state DPA releases 2022 data protection activity report
The Baden-Württemberg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information released its data protection activity report for 2022. Research and health data was a key focus during the year, with the LfDI providing “intensive advice in order to strengthen the trust of citizens in how researchers handle their data and at the same time to enable good research.” The LfDI said 3,796 complaints were received in 2022, down from 4,708 in 2021, indicating “the elimination of numerous corona-related restrictions” led to fewer complaints.
